Letter For Benghazi Investigation and Response from Schumer

~~Scroll below for (so called) response letter from Senator Schumer.~~

To my Honorable Congresspersons,

On September 11, 2012, American interests abroad were under attack by radical Islamic jihadists. The result of this attack was not only the burning down and ransacking of American consulates and embassies throughout the Middle East. The end result included the atrocious, violent deaths of 4 Americans. Stand with us in fighting for these 4 men who gave all.

Despite asking for reinforcements to help the consulate that was under attack, the Obama Administration denied the requests. Why? Then, within hours of learning about these attacks, President Obama went to campaign in Las Vegas, New York, and Hollywood.

Time and emails continue to point to the fact that not only did President Obama know about what happened, he and his team watched it in the Situation Room. The American people deserve to know if the Obama Administration attempted to hide the truth of what he knew and when he knew it. Did he lie to the American people because the truth was an inconvenience to his ongoing campaign?

Up to now there has clearly been nothing but obfuscation, at best. Ambassador Stevens, State Dept. Agent Sean Smith, and Former Navy SEALS Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods deserve better than to be layed to rest with unanswered questions. Who gave the order to stand down? Another simple question with no answer.

In the name of the fallen heroes can you please assist us in the fight to bring the truth about Benghazi out into the public light? Are you willing to stand up for those 4 gentlemen that can no longer speak for themselves?

I am hoping my congressional representatives will be willing to do what the 4th Estate refuses to do; an investigation of the facts. Please give our fallen heroes the respect they deserve and see to it these questions are not left unresolved as seems to be the direction it is going in.

Whether the result is exoneration or condemnation please give the fallen heroes and the American people the definitive answers the deserve.

Sincerely.

Tom Maerling

(So called) RESPONSE FROM SEN. SCHUMER – Rcvd 12-28-2012

Dear Mr. Maerling:
Thank you for wiring to express your concern for United State citizens and our Embassies abroad in the wake of the recent attack which claimed the life four Americans. I am profoundly saddened by this tragedy. I share your concern for our diplomats in their noble work and remain committed to the safety of Americans overseas.
As you are aware, the United States Embassy in Libya was stuck by a terrorist attack resulting in the deaths of four Americans in Libya, including Ambassador Chris Stevens and Foreign Service Information Management Officer Sean Smith. My thoughts and prayers are with their families and friends and all whose lives were touched by these outstanding American patriots. As President Obama noted, Ambassador Stevens was a courageous and exemplary representative of the United States. Throughout the Libyan revolution, he selflessly served our country and the Libyan people at our mission in Benghazi. All four of these brave Americans demonstrated our nation’s commitment to freedom, democracy and dignity. The sacrifice of these brave Americans will not be forgotten.
There is absolutely no justification for this malicious act. I support the actions of this administration in in increasing security at diplomatic posts around the world and promise to hunt down and bring to justice these vicious murderers.
Again, thank you for contacting me regarding this important issue. Please feel free to contact me in the future if I can be of further assistance on this or any other matter.
Sincerely,
Charles E. Schumer
United States Senator
